Julia is woken up early by the owner of the Restaurant downstairs to be told there is a dead man in the walk in freezer Though she had seen the man the prior night, nobody knows who it is or why he died and in the freezer no less So she starts asking questions and finds a mystery dated years in the past.This was a nominee for the Agatha, and though it did not win, it is well worth a read Julia is interesting and it is a works well with the police balance that I liked in my cozy sleuth

I love love love these books Julia Snowden is settling back in to Busman Harbor and has started running Gus s Too with her boyfriend, Chris When Gus finds a body in the walk in freezer of the restaurant Julia just can t help but start digging around and asking questions The story goes fast and is yet again another great read in the Clambake series.

Fogged Inn by Barbara Ross was a decent mystery The story is set in a quaint sea side community in Maine The victim is found in the walk in cooler of the village s only restaurant, so a suitably bizarre plot was likely a certainty And it was a zig zag plot that was fun to follow The sleuth was suitably amatueurish who often than not figured things out faster than the cops Good mystery.

My mom and I chose another cozy mystery, Fogged Inn from the Clambake Series for our Mother Daughter Book Club Fogged Inn started off with a bang and was headed for a 5 star rating until the highly disappointing ending The ending was meh with very little explanation and seemed rushed While the book was well written for the most part the lackluster ending has earned it my least favorite in this series.
